Egypt, 1954. Gamel Abdel Nasser became president of Egypt after the Egyptian Revolution. During his time in office he promoted "Arab Socialism" and formed ties with the Communist bloc and USSR. The next president, Anwar Sadat (who became president in 1970) dismantled "Aram Socialism" and turned from the USSR to Western Europe and the US to form ties.
