Module Sixteen: North Africa
PURPOSE: This module introduces students to the geographic, social, political, and economic characteristics of North Africa. Through the learning activities, students will explore the region’s diversity in climate, people, politics, and economics.
Module Seventeen: West Africa
PURPOSE: The purpose of Module Seventeen is to introduce students to the region of West Africa. The region of West Africa will be discussed here as a grouping of countries made by geographers based on some common geographical, cultural, economic, and political features.
Module Eighteen: Central Africa
PURPOSE: This module will introduce students to the cultural, social, economic, and political richness and diversity of the Central African region. Through the learning activities students will learn about the primary physical and social characteristics of this dynamic region, and come to understand the social, economic, political, and cultural processes and relationships that lead to continuity and change within the region.
Module Nineteen: East Africa
PURPOSE: The purpose of Module Nineteen is to introduce students to the region called East Africa. East Africa is a vast area encompassing the countries of Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Seychelles, and Comoros.
Module Twenty: Southern Africa
PURPOSE: This module will introduce students to the cultural, social, economic, and political richness and diversity of the southern African region.
